Disappointed - Cooktop lasted 7 months

I bought all new Kitchenaid appliances in April (Fridge, Micro/Oven Combo and Induction cooktop) and these appliances were not cheap. I was loving my cooktop until the boost feature blew out the board ... within 7 months. I had to wait almost a week for the appointed appliance folks to come look at it (didn't even touch it when they came to 'look at it' but the repairman told us they knew exactly what it was because they had replaced a number of those boards) and then had to wait another week for them to install the new board. This, of course, was when I was trying to cook Thanksgiving dinner for my family - without a cooktop ... for almost 2 weeks! So very disappointed. Now, I am hesitant to use the boost feature and wanting to extend the warranty on all of these appliances for life ... at no charge. So, below I rate this appliance accordingly because I need a cooktop that will not fail.

So fantastic

We bought this and could not be happier. With little ones running around I no longer have to worry about super hot surfaces and it has cut my cooking time down considerably!!

Installation Issue

Finally installed and working as expected. The markings in the glass for the "burners" are hard to see in low light and for us who have aging eyes. Also the unit requires a special glue to install with granite or quartz countertops. I don't recall seeing this anywhere in the literature. Since this is a high end appliance one would expect that it would be installed on stone surfaces. It was annoying that the glue would not be included. I called the Kitchenaid help line and the person handling the call knew nothing about installation and could only read from the installation guide. I had to tell her where to look for the information on the installation process with stone. She offered no help and said i should order the glue form Kitchenaid. It turns out the tube of glue costs over $100 if getting from Kitchenaid. I went to Home depot and got an alternative for under $10

prefer all surface cooktop.

Tk is cooktop replaced a Whirlpool cooktop that was on recall. Mine went on automatically when I was away from home. Could have been a real disaster. Grateful whirlpool replaced the defective product & pulled it from the market.!

Super efficace
