Our Story
1946
In 1941 the Kredit DeWaard store opened in Lynden, WA selling everything from automobile tires to some of the first major home appliances introduced to Whatcom County.
1946
In 1946, Kredit retired and Rube Bode joined his brother-in-law, Jake DeWaard, to form DeWaard & Bode. Over the years, the company focus shifted to solely selling and servicing major appliances quickly becoming the leading retailer in the area and coining the name "The Appliance Giants".
2002
Under new ownership, DeWaard & Bode continued expanding into a larger warehouse facility on Hannegan Road in Bellingham. This facility contains our service & parts departments and is complete with an appliance outlet center where you'll find great deals on ding & dent appliances!
2010
As operations continued to grow, DeWaard & Bode launched their flagship Bellingham Showroom, becoming the largest appliance & mattress showroom in Whatcom county. Featuring an incredible showcase of the industry's latest & greatest products.
2016
With a growing demand in Skagit & Island counties, a new showroom & outlet center was launched in Burlington to better serve this region as the premier appliance & mattress retailer North of Seattle.
2019
We may have grown through the years, but we are still locally and family-owned and operate on the same values that DeWaard & Bode's founders stood by, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to serving our community. We continue to grow our team and serve the communities where we live and work!
