Ice maker is terrible

like the design which is why bought this model. the icemaker is terrible! we have to manually chop out the excess ice that freezes between the ice maker storage bin and the ice maker at least every 2 weeks with a butterknife. it will not make ice until the blockage is cleared. it is worse if you have a party and will freeze up within 1 hour or so. stick with samsung tvs.

worse refrigerator ever - since brand new has never produced 10 pounds of ice, glass shelves aren't sealedoing so anything leaks it gets in were you can't clean it, ice maker freezes up all the time, fridge freezes behind back panel and then fan starts making noise ,and before it was even a year old started rusting around ice and water dispenser

we bought this product about 6 years ago and it has been junk the entire time. as it has been mentioned time after time in the reviews, the ice maker is a gigantic pain. we are constantly having to bang out large chunks of ice that is freezing between the ice maker and inner wall. we are also running out of ice because once it freezes, it will not produce any more ice. we also have to remove 1/2" think sheets of ice from under the larger slide out storage section. do not purchase this item.

this is a great refrigerator besides the ice maker consistently having issues where it will freeze up and you have to chip away all the ice to get it going again. i have even tried repair folks and thankfully i have gotten an honest repair man that said that there is no fix to it because the ice maker is a seperate compartment that is added to the refrigerator so the warmer air in the refrigerator keeps the ice maker from maintaing the cold temp that it needs to make ice successfully. so basically making home made ice is what you have to resort to. not sure i would consider another samsung refirgerator unless it is built better in reference to the ice maker. wish that the manufacturer would do something about it.
