My enthusiasm for this new range was dampened last week when I used the broiler for the first time and it tripped the breaker. Nowhere in the description or specifications does Whirlpool (or Best Buy) state that this unit is dual fuel: the broiler is electric. Buried deep in the instruction manual is the requirement for a dedicated circuit. Neither my architect, electrical engineer, nor contractor was aware of this even though I gave them the make and model number early in planning for a new residence. I'm now out $325 for the electrician to add another circuit, expensively, since walls are finished and access is limited. Whirlpool customer service reps insist that the consumer should know to look in the installation manual, but that is counterintuitive: a feature of the range this significant should be stated up front in the overall description and in the specifications. I do recommend the unit, but buyer beware: you should have a dedicated circuit for it.

I like this unit a lot and the it is so nice to return to a gas range after having had an electric stove for a few years. This uint is attractive and functional. My only two minor complaints are the plastic surface of the control panel (it is rather cheesy in this day of touch screen surfaces) and the heavy grates. I have arthritis in both hands and it can be tough to remove them for cleaning. Both are not deal breakers for me, but I believe Whirlpool could have done a little better with those items.
