Must replace useless "safety" coil burners

Before purchasing Whirlpool oven Model # WFC310S0ES, I read all of the reviews on this factory website. There are at least 60 reviews complaining that the top coil burners won't even boil a pan of water after 30 minutes, which is beyond ridiculous! This must be some sort of "safety feature" as any oven that takes 30 minutes to do what was previously accomplished in 5 minutes surely isn't saving any energy. Feel free to read them for yourself. Well, I had already purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in stainless finish to update my kitchen, so I wanted a matching oven and the Model # WFC310S0ES is the only available option that uses traditional electric coil burners. All other models have the smooth, ceramic glass cooktop, which by the way scratches easily and has its own unique design flaws. So I visited my local appliance parts store, and showed them the coils on the new stove. These coils have a weird little box attached on the underside, which apparently is the "safety feature" mechanism. I replaced all (4) "safety" coils with standard coils, which cost around $100. Mind you, this is another hundred dollars in parts for what is supposed to be a brand new stove. Again, completely ridiculous "improvement" by the manufacturer! Other reviews point out that the coils do not sit level unless a heavy pan is on them, and that they are not secured to the cooktop. Well, I resolved this issue as well. On my old stove (and every stove I have ever seen frankly) there is one little upward facing clip (per coil burner) where the coil snaps securely onto the cooktop surface. These clips were fastened onto my old stove's cooktop surface with a small rivet, but they were easily removed with a sharp chisel and hammer. I then reused them on my new stove, because it does not include these clips for some unknown reason. Logic would tell you that the coil burners will never be adequately secured without these little clips. Again, completely ridiculous design flaw/lack of attention to detail by the manufacturer! Another cheap-approach design flaw mentioned in several reviews is that there is no handle on the bottom storage drawer, and the sliding mechanisms are flimsy and weak whenever you try to open the drawer.

I bought this electric range 5 years ago. I also purchased an extended warranty through Lowes on this model. Not only does it have a mind of it's own it's a fire hazard! It either takes forever to heat up or it goes straight to RED. To make matters worse we can NEVER find the right size drip pans. We cannot afford to purchase another stove and we are at are wits end!

Do not care for glasstop electric ranges as spills end up getting caked onto stove top, no matter how quickly you clean up. Have only had this range a short while, but so far so good. The only complaint might be the drawer at the bottom. I wish it was made of a thicker material. Seems a bit thin and cheap to me.

I bought this over a month ago and had to wait for the first one came in damaged. should have cancelled the order then. Received the second one an it took over 20 minutes to boil water. Had to put a cover on pan to get it to boil, put pasta in and had to cover again to get it to boil. Returned stove and put my old GE back into service.
